MISSION STATEMENT: To educate, inspire, and encourage participation in the political process by volunteering our time and resources to elect Republican candidates. To promote Republican ideals of peace through strength, prosperity through individual responsibility, and liberty through limited government.
URGVS Community Council members educate, organize, and mobilize voters in the Green Valley and Sahuarita communities to turn Southern Arizona RED. Council members engage with community members to discuss key issues that matter most to voters.
The newsletter plays a vital role in updating the URGVS membership on the various activities and programs planned for the coming weeks. Key issues are discussed, and member resources are listed. URGVS priorities are showcased, and members have an opportunity to find out what Republicans are doing locally, statewide, and nationally.
The Request To Speak program (RTS) is designed to allow the public to register an opinion on bills listed on agendas and to request to speak on a bill in a committee. After the initial setup, at a kiosk, the RTS program allows you to participate from your home or office.
The URGVS need for volunteers is constant and continues to evolve as we become more active and engaged in our communities. Being a volunteer is a satisfying and great experience. Volunteer opportunities include working in the URGVS headquarters, communications and technology, committee work, and political action.
The “campaigns and elections’ model is not working. Simply speaking, the GOP cannot compete with the Democrat Socialist Party that trades votes for government giveaways.
The URGVS has developed the “Issue Organizing Campaign” model (IOC). This model aligns voters to issues to candidates. The result is an established commitment between the voter and the candidate held together by important issues that matter to both the voter and candidate.
The URGVS educates, organizes, and mobilizes around issues that increase bottom-up leadership and inside-out values throughout the Republican Party to attract other organizations and groups. Educate, organize, and mobilize are defined as:
Thinking about running for office but don’t know where to begin. Find out what it takes to go from a candidates to a winning candidate.
Have some questions that need answers. . We have the the resources you need to engage and educate voters on issues that matter.
Some of the best political conversations are informal and focus on issues. Start by finding out what issues really matters.
